The Dark Knight: Best Batman Yet?
The first reviews of The Dark Knight are coming in, and it looks to be even more critically acclaimed than its prequel, with Rolling Stone magazine gaving the film four and a half stars out of five.
The real star of the film however seems to be the late Heath Ledger, who plays Batman's arch nemesis the Joker, in his last ever film role.
Rolling Stone magazine described him as "mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker. Miles from Jack Nicholson's
broadly funny take on the role in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman, Ledger
takes the role to the shadows, where even what's comic is hardly a
relief,"
Ledger is now being tipped for a posthumous oscar win, the first since Peter Finch in 1976, the New York Post stated; "As Ledger's final performance, this one is so off the rails that you
really don't want to say goodbye, to the character or the actor... in this flick, Ledger showed us what a masterful actor he
was - certainly deserving of a posthumous Oscar nomination."
