Movie Legend Stan Winston Passes Away
Stan Winston, the Oscar winning special effects and make-up artist, passed away this weekend. He was responsible for creating some of the most memorable movie characters in modern cinema. Winston designed such iconic figures as the Terminator, the Alien Queen in Aliens, Jurassic Park’s T-Rex, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns’ Penguin and the monsters in John Carpenter’s classic horror The Thing.
Stan Winston passed away after a seven year battle against multiple myeloma, aged 62. His most recent project was creating Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man suit, and was working with James Cameron on his much anticipated Avatar project.
